The name “Kituwah” holds deep cultural and historical significance for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. It originates from the Kituwah Mound, located in Cherokee, North Carolina, considered the Mother Town of the Cherokee people and a sacred site representing the heart of their ancestral homeland. Kituwah symbolizes resilience, community, and the enduring connection to Cherokee heritage and traditions.
